Dr. Aimee M. Eggleston, DVM services all of Eggleston Equine’s clients and is licensed in the states of Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. A large percentage of her practice involves lameness and pre-purchase examinations. With the most recent in digital x-ray and digital ultrasound technology, Dr. Eggleston is able to perform lameness and pre-purchase work at both a local and regional level.
Dr. Eggleston also provides the full range of general practice equine medical care. Dr. Eggleston has a deserved reputation for professionalism, for her commitment to progressive clinical medicine, and for her dedication to client communication and education.
Eggleston Equine offers 24-hour emergency care to its clients as well as a clinic service. The clinic service allows Dr. Eggleston to provide medical care that would be impossible to provide in the field–-such as 24 hour monitoring and intensive medical treatment for colic.
Dr. Eggleston has a long history as an English Sport horse competitor in New England. She started competing when she was just 6 years old, growing up in Falmouth, MA on Cape Cod. Dr Eggleston has been around horses her entire life. She has jumped them, shown them, and fallen off them more times than she cares to remember. She has loved horses from before she can remember and she has always dreamed of being a horse veterinarian.
She pursued this dream at the Cornell University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences where she graduated with a B.S. in Animal Science with honors. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine. After receiving her veterinary degree she continued her education by completing a highly competitive internship at one of the top surgical and referral equine hospitals in the country, Blue Ridge Equine in Virginia.
Dr. Eggleston has practiced equine veterinary medicine in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island for the past seven years. During that time she has earned the respect of clients and colleagues alike while establishing herself as a premier equine veterinarian servicing New England.
Dr. Eggleston has received the best of equine medical educations and is an established veterinarian working in New England. She continues her commitment to excellence, to providing the best medical care, by seeking out additional certifications and training. In December of 2004 she received certification in equine acupuncture from the Chi Institute of Reddick, FL after an extensive training and examination program.
Dr. Eggleston manages Eggleston Equine along with her husband Timothy Ahearn. They live in Woodstock, CT with their dog, two cats and horse “JoJo.” They are committed to the health of your horse, to your success in equine pursuits, and they relish the opportunity to earn your business and trust.
